People and their taxes
I don’t know about everyone but I can honestly say that my husband runs a fine tooth comb through all of our financial records when doing our taxes. He makes sure we have all documents needed in order to complete them. So, I find it odd that there are people out there that don’t seem to care about getting all the proper documentation in order to complete their taxes. I work for a company that sends out 1098 forms (mortgage interest paid) to the borrowers. I frequently get the forms returned to me due to address discrepancies and attempt to contact the borrowers for correct information. I leave messages for these people to call me back and I never hear from them. Some of these people have thousands of dollars that they can claim on their taxes but don’t show interest in obtaining this documentation. These people must be the independently wealthy ones of which I am not one. Wouldn’t it be nice if I could take the money and claim it on my taxes to help my bottom line. No such luck. I just find it odd.
