Kindergarten Enrollment
Who would ever think that enrolling your children in kindergarten would be so difficult. Education is so important these days even more so than when I was a kid. You didn’t necessarily have to have a college education to get a good job. Your skills and knowledge could take you a long way.
In order to provide my son with the education that I think he will need I did my parental duty and went to enroll him in kindergarten. I don’t remember having the difficulties when I registered my daughter for school but let me say that it was a fiasco. I went there at the appointed time just to stand in a line. After standing in line for more than an hour we were told by other parents that we needed a ticket. After another 15 minutes someone came out and gave us tickets just so we could stand in line longer to put our name on a list. What’s the point of the ticket? We finally put our name on the list to be told that we would have to come back after 1 pm to see if we could be seen. I came back at 1 to be told that I would have to come back later but they didn’t see a problem in getting to my number by the end of the day. I asked them what time they closed and was told 5 pm. At 4 pm I sent my husband back to see if he could complete the task that I started at 9:15 that morning just to have my husband call me to say they were closed. He did some more research at the enrollment center and found out that they closed at 2 pm because they were overwhelmed. Excuse Me! Overwhelmed? Wouldn’t it be nice if we all could just close our companies doors when we felt overwhelmed. How ridiculous is that? OK. Done for the first day.
My husband went back the following morning and was told that he had to come back after 12 pm. He went back at 12 and someone was actually reviewing the vaccination records and my husband was told at that time we wouldn’t have been able to register my son until his TB test was signed off by the doctor. My son just had his TB test the day my husband went to register him and we wouldn’t be able to get it signed off until Monday. You think they could have had someone reviewing records the day before to eliminate frustration. Apparently they didn’t either.
My husband needs to go back to the enrollment center on Monday after my sons TB test is signed off and hopefully register him for school. What an ordeal. Thank goodness I don’t plan on having any more kids. I don’t want to do this again.
Oh my gosh!
