Old Movie Theaters

I have been telling my husband for sometime now that we need to make time every month for a date. It seems that life gets more and more hectic and I actually have to schedule time to spend with my husband. This past weekend we didn’t have our kids and decided that it would be a good time to try and do something together. We toyed with the idea of going away for a night but it turned out to be far more expensive than we were willing to pay. “How about Bonfante Gardens”, my husband asks me. Since I was the only one in the family that didn’t have a season pass I decided that wasn’t a great idea either. I suggested a movie since we rarely see any movies currently in the theaters.

My husband went online and found a movie that we wanted to see but I thought that my daughter would be upset if we didn’t take her to see this particular movie so we decided not to go see it yet. However, my husband found an old movie theater online that was different than any theater these days. Parkway in Oakland, California is an old theater that allows you to eat dinner while you are viewing the movie. They have sofas and tables set up in the front part of the theater which lets you feel as though you are home eating dinner in front of your television. They have a wide range of food from pizza to pasta to sandwiches and you can also get beer and soda by the pitcher. It’s like having a mini party but you don’t have to clean up the mess. It’s not right around the corner at my local theater because I live in San Jose but I really enjoyed the experience and want to take my kids sometime soon. Parkway Theater is located at 1834 Park Blvd, Oakland California 94606. Want to enjoy something a little different? Make a visit to the Parkway Theater.
