How many days….and counting?
I am one of the volunteers for the layoff at my company. I was told that I had to work until October 5 as part of the severance package. Unfortunately I think they are going to let me go this Friday September 26.
The company needed to lay off 14 people and they didn’t get the full 14 therefore now they have to choose some people to go. That being said, it would be difficult for management to let the chosen ones go on Friday Sept 26 and keep the people that volunteered until Oct. 5. It bothered me at first (assuming that my hunch is correct about this Friday) because I was told one thing and now I think it’s going to be different. I know I’m speculating!
I can deal with change when things happen naturally but I don’t like when anyone tells me that “such and such” is going to happen or “this” is what we are doing and then have them change plans.
I have an appointment with HR tomorrow at 3pm and I’m hoping that they are going to tell me what is happening this Friday.
