Making a list…Checking it off.
I’m still working on my list of things to do.
Sunday - Tuesday: I spent 3 days scraping grout, paint, wallpaper, and silicone caulking off of the shower door rails and walls. I could barely move my hands or grasp anything for a day with my right hand. I got to the point that it was good enough. Not perfect, but good enough. I was glad to be on to the next project.
Thursday: Since Sterling’s wall was repaired and it had time to set I was able to paint. I picked out the paint and was able to get his room painted in a couple of hours. It probably took me more time to prep the room than it did to paint it. The color is not much different than what was on the wall before a little bit lighter but it still gives the room a fresh clean feel. I like it!
Thursday: I also had to re-caulk the bathroom. The caulking that I did the other day needed to be touched up.
Today I decided to paint the bathroom. I picked out the paint color “Kitty Fluff”. Don’t know why it is called Kitty Fluff because I have three cats and none of the colors that come from them would I want on my walls. I didn’t realize that prepping a bathroom for painting is much harder than prepping a bedroom. So many fixtures to work around and much smaller areas to paint. I finally had the bathroom prepped so I went and picked up the paint. My first coat looked AWFUL! It said that one coat would cover but apparently it didn’t work in my case. I don’t know if the existing paint on the wall had a type of finish that didn’t allow the paint to adhere as well or what the deal was. I knew I would have to put on a second coat of paint.
While waiting for it to dry I sat down and watched the rest of the movie Shallow Hal while I ate some lunch. Although the movie itself is not that great I love the underlying message. Movie finished. Back to the bathroom.
I started putting on the second coat of paint and it looked as though it was covering better. I finished the second coat and I’m letting it dry before I decide that it might need touch up. Cortney just got home and she said that it looks good but she said that it needs a third coat. Not because it necessarily needs another coat but because she didn’t get to help me paint and she wants to paint.
Went to Bed Bath and Beyond today to look at shower curtains and didn’t bring my coupons so I am going back tonight to look at them again.
